Summer Preschool Crafts
Sun Handprint Wreath
Beat the heat this summer with some "cool" summer preschool crafts.
When a summer thundershower keeps your kids inside (or it's just too hot to be outdoors)....don't worry! We've got some summer craft ideas for you.
Break out the scissors and gather up some cardboard (old cereal boxes will do) and make a Sun Handprint Wreath with your kids.
Four and five year olds love this summer craft activity as they master the art of cutting with scissors. There's plenty of "cutting up" with this summer craft for kids--so start now.....and ENJOY!
Make sure you put the date on this easy child craft for a great keepsake and a record of your child's growth!
Supplies:
- Heavy cardboard (we used cereal boxes)
- Pencil
- Glue
- Scissors
- Paint, markers or crayons
- Template of a child's hand
Directions:
- Cut out a circle from the cardboard (a dinner plate makes a great template)
- Paint or color the cardboard yellow and add a sun "face"
- Trace your child's hand and cut out approximately 16-20 hands (Depends on the size of your wreath)
- Paint the hands yellow and orange (we found it easier to paint the hands before you cut them out)
- Glue hands to form a wreath
