Our Best Recycled Crafts for Preschoolers!
Recycled crafts from plastic bags mean loads of fun!
We've used plastic bags to make some easy recycled crafts!
At least once a week I'm asked this question' "Paper or plastic?" Frankly, my answer is, "Neither" because I'm making it a habit to use reusable totes on all my shopping expeditions be it my weekly grocery shopping or a quick run to Ikea. On the rare occasion when a plastic bag does find its way into my house, I think of creative ways to reuse it.
Just this week, Maya (the maker of most crafts on this site) came home with this cute idea for a plastic bag snake. Take a look:
Here's what you'll need:
Materials
- One plastic bag
- Scissors
- Felt scraps for the nose and tongue
- Some sewing thread or small rubber bands
- Glue or staples and a stapler
- Stickers for decorating the body of the snake
Instructions
Roll up your plastic bag in the shape of a snake...the same way that you make modeling clay snakes.
Using thread, section off the plastic bag and tie the thread around tightly (refer to our picture)
From the felt, cut out two round circles for eyes and a forked tongue. Attach using glue or staples.
Decorate the snake's body with stickers.
Congratulations! You've completed your first of many (we hope) plastic bag projects!
How about sharing your crafts with us?
Maybe you have your own ideas for making snakes and other creepy crawlers. We're sure that you're really creative! So c'mon!
