Presidents Day Activity
Plan a President's Day activity using holiday craft ideas and gain an opportunity to distinguish two important presidential birthdays.
Prior to 1971, the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln (February 12) and George Washington (February 22) were both observed as separate federal public holidays. In 1971 President Nixon proclaimed one single holiday to be observed on the third Monday of February. Renamed President's Day, it is the official observance of Washington's Birthday.
This holiday presents us with a wealth of possibilities for fun crafts for kids of all ages. The selection that we've included here provides us with an excellent way to teach our children about these two great men.
Pick out your favorites and enjoy the holiday!
