Great Paper Plate Puppets to Make!

If you believe it's easy to make puppets, then we intend to agree with you. We love making puppets out of all kinds of things, be it paper, felt, paper bags, plastic bottles, socks or paper plates. Just the thought of making crafts from everyday materials puts us in a creative mood. Let's see just what Maya's got up her sleeve for us...

Zebra Template

Ready to get started? We've included a list of materials and instructions for the Zebra Puppet. If you want to make the Monkey Puppet, please click here or on the picture above.

Materials

Two white paper plates
Black, white and pink construction paper
A black marker
Black yarn
Scissors
Stapler
Glue
Our Zebra Template

Instructions:

Print out our template and cut out the pieces. Transfer them onto construction paper and cut out. Glue in place to the back of one white paper plate.

Cut a few strands of black yarn. Staple to the back of the paper plate between the two ears.

Cut the second paper plate in half. Take one half and line it up to the decorated paper plate. Staple together around the outer edge. This should form a pocket on the back side of your puppet. You will place your hand there to operate the puppet.

That's it! You've just completed your first paper plate puppet!
