Party On with Holiday Crafts
New Year's Hats--Get into the party spirit by donning our easy New Year's hats.
Confetti filled balloons usher in the New Year with a bang!--Let your kids pick their favorite balloon colors. Open the neck of the balloon and insert some homemade confetti (made with paper punch and colored paper). Blow up the balloons and then pop on the stroke of midnight! Messy but FUN!
Party Poppers (or Firecrackers) made from toilet rolls--Crackers are a tradition around the holidays in Europe. The idea is that you pull on each end and a surprise comes out. You can make these for New Year’s using an empty toilet paper tube covered in tissue paper. Wrap the tube in the tissue paper and tie at one end. Then add some fun items such as confetti, small plastic toys or even candy. Tie off the other end. Your kids can decorate the outside of the tube with glitter or stickers if they wish. If you are having friends or other kids over, have your kids make one for each guest. These are great and inexpensive party favors and your kids will love making them and then pulling them apart.
Resolution Reminder Magnet--It's easy to make those New Year's resolutions and even easier to break them. Make this magnet and post it on your fridge as a reminder to keep your promises to yourselves.
Calendars--Let the kids choose their own personalized style!
A Time Capsule--made from a Pringles container, you can make predictions for the future. We show you how!
Paper Doves--remind your kids of what's really important for the new year...Peace on Earth!
Countdown Clocks--Amanda Formaro treats us to this cute craft that will entertain the kids before bedtime.
