Make a Hanukkah Menorah Craft
Start a New Candle Lighting Tradition
Get into the Hanukkah spirit by making an original Hanukkah menorah craft this year.
Every Jewish family lights a menorah for each of the eight nights of Hanukkah. In my family, the tradition is that each family member lights their own menorah, or hanukkiah. I have four kids, so that means a lot of menorahs!
Not all of our hanukkiot are store-bought. Over the years, each of us has made a Hanukkah menorah craft.....or two! As a matter of fact, I still light the menorah that I made as an enthusiastic five year old Sunday schooler.....way back in 1959! Here's my hanukkiah.
This year, our kibbutz sponsered a Hanukkah get-together. Crafts played a major role in the festivities, and one of the tables was dedicated to making Hanukkah menorah crafts. It's really super easy.
A block of clay stood at the middle of a large table and the kids just pulled off balls of clay and made them into the hanukkiah of their own imaginations

Enjoy! Have a very Happy Hanukkah....Chag Hanukkah Sameach!
