Have Loads of Fun with Our Egg Carton Crafts!

Egg carton crafts are a great (inexpensive) way to get your child's creative juices flowing. You would never guess how many great ideas an egg carton can inspire!

We've made flower bouquets and caterpillars, mice, rabbits, ladybugs and turtles. Just check out the photos below to see what we've come up with!

All you have to do is choose your favorite egg carton animal and follow our easy instructions. It's so simple that you'll want to make all four!

The ideas are super easy. Here's what you'll need:

Materials

  • An egg carton
  • Construction paper
  • Foam sheets
  • Paint and paint brushes (we used gouache)
  • Scissors
  • Wiggle eyes
  • glue stick, white glue or a glue gun (adult supervision required)
  • Markers, crayons, colored pencils (your choice)

Instructions

Cut out one cup from the egg carton.

For the turtle: Paint the egg cup green, the tab for the face yellow, and let dry. While you're waiting for the paint to dry, cut out the shapes for the tail and legs. Once your paint has dried, you can use a black marker to draw scales on the turtles shell and a face on the yellow tab. Glue the body parts onto the egg carton cup and you're done!

For the mouse: All you need for the mouse is a pink tail and some ears cut from construction paper. Draw on the eyes, nose and mouth and there you have it...an egg carton mouse.

For the ladybug: Use our picture for reference. Start by painting the egg cup red. When that's dry, paint black spots on the "back" of the lady bug. A black face wiggle eyes and some cut out antenaes glued to the head and you're set!

For the rabbit: Our rabbit is super simple. Take 2 egg cups. On one draw a rabbit face (check out our picture), and from the other cut two big rabbit ears. Glue on the body of the rabbit and you've got yourself a recycled craft! Good job!

That's it....and keep up the recycling....it's important!

Wait! There is one more thing we'd like to ask! Would you like to share your craft project with us?

We'd love to see what you made. Maybe you "tweaked" our ideas and came up with some AMAZING results of your own!

Don't be shy, join our Real Kids Club and submit your craft ideas!
