A Child Craft Valentine Idea

Hang some hearts with this child craft valentine idea. Grab a regular hanger from the closet and start this easy kid holiday craft right away. Apart from the hanger you'll need crepe paper, scissors, pencil, glue, colorful ribbon and construction paper. Children who love to cut with scissors will find plenty to do here! Just cut out a bunch of hearts, glue and string! Then look for a good place to hang this Valentine's Day decoration. Enjoy!

Supplies

An ordinary wire clothes hanger

Crepe paper (we used pink)

Pencil

Colored construction paper

Scissors

Glue stick

Colored ribbon

Instructions

1. Cut the crepe paper into 2-inch strips.

2. Wrap around a wire clothes hanger until completely covered.

3. Choose three colors of construction paper.

4. Use a template to cut out a lot of hearts (we used a cookie cutter).

5. Fold the hearts in half (make a good crease).

6. Place one heart on the table, fold side facing upwards.

7. Put glue on one side of the heart.

8. Glue a second folded heart to one side of the first heart, matching center lines.

9. Take a third folded heart and glue it to the remaining side of the first heart (again matching center lines).

10. Lay the yarn (or string) along the center line and glue in place.

11. Glue the inner flaps of the second and third hearts together, enclosing the string within the flaps.

12. Repeat these steps until you have a string of as many hearts as you want.

13. Tie to the hanger, alternating with streamers of colorful ribbons.

14. Now go and hang your new child craft valentine!
