Child Art Crafts
Get started with child art crafts by using materials you have lying around the house! Make a cute craft box to stow away all your "stuff".
Look no further than your own home for some of the most interesting materials you'll need. Remember, imagination and creativity are the key.Fun crafts for kids can be started with things as simple as a leftover toilet paper roll. Many an animal shape or finger puppet found it's origins here! And the stray buttons you've been collecting in an old jam jar?....perfect for gluing and pasting to...well...anything.
Child Craft KitNo matter which project you choose, your child will undoubtedly need the following supplies for almost every craft: - Age appropriate scissors
- Markers
- Crayons
- Colored pencils
- White glue
- Glue stick
Keep your kids organized by helping them make a personalized child craft kit from an old shoe box. This is our best choice for your first easy kid craft project. Here's how to begin: Supplies
A shoe box, or any box with a lid Colored paper (wrapping paper, construction paper, contact paper) Glue Scissors Crayons, markers, paints, or colored pencils
Directions:
Cut the paper to match the size of the box. Cover the box by gluing the paper to each side, and top Decorate according to your imagination (ie: draw on the paper, paste cutouts on the box, use stickers)
The purpose of this craft is two-fold. First, each child is encouraged to decorate his own box making it uniquely personal. Second, the box will hold his own supplies. You'll be teaching your children to be responsible for their own materials...PLUS, they will then be able to access those supplies whenever the "craft bug bites."
